Today we're on a trip to the Lacul Ursu, the bear lake near Sovata.
On a scenic country road across green wooded hills and extended fields and madows, we approach the health resort Sovata.
Driving past renovated, gorgeous Jugendstil-mansions we arrive the small Lacul Ursu, which is lying in a slight swale. Along the south bank of the lake the swimming baths is located, behind there discreetly modern hotels are rising up.
The bearskin-shaped lake, result of a doline collapse in the year 1860 holds an elevated concentration of salt, what causes the phenomenon of heliothermie. Depending on the intensity of insolation, considerable fluctuations of water temperature may accur, where deeper strata are getting warmer than the surface area and may reach 60°C. The thermal water is being used for therapy, especially for healing rheumatism, lower abdominal pain and due to injury irritations of the musculoskeletal system.
Around 18h we meet Eva and Etelka for dinner at the newly-opened restaurant of the hotel Villa Vitae. The attractive mistress welcomes us and the Jahressuppe kindly and leads us to the kitchen, where the already prepared Armenian Angadzsabur is being mixed with the Jahressuppe in the most complaisant way.
