for 2 litres soup
first roast 2 onions, add chopped soup vegetable and roast gently; add a thumb sized, minced piece of ginger; also add 1/2kg cut pumpkin; pour in 2 litres water, place 2 beef stock cubes and bring the soup to the boil; bit by bit pour in 1/2 litre white wine; season with 2 garlic cloves, parsley and other herbs at the end of cooking time.
